The Mission of the Gene & John Athletic Fund of Stonewall is to promote a healthy and productive lifestyle through athletic endeavor and to provide inspiring role models for gay, lesbian and trans-gender athletes of all ages. In support of these aims the Fund is:

Establishing a Gay & Lesbian Athletic Hall of Fame^SM that will showcase outstanding gay and lesbian athletes.

Sponsoring sports programs for GLBT teenagers who are in special schools or currently living in group homes.

The Fund also provides financial support to:

Gay and lesbian athletes to continue their education while pursuing athletics.

Schools, colleges and sports clubs to support the endeavors of promising gay and lesbian athletes.

athletic clubs to promote gay and lesbian sporting events and sponsoring training and clinics for gay and lesbian athletes.

the media units of gay and lesbian and athletic organizations to raise the general public's awareness of the successes of gay and lesbian athletes.
